Croatia’s most iconic beach earns its reputation for families — a long pebble-and-sand spit with shallow calm water perfect for young kids. Reach it via a 25-minute ferry from Split to Bol on Brac Island (tickets approx. 5-7 EUR each way for adults; children under 12 often reduced or free depending on operator). Arrive before 9am in July and August — by midday the beach is packed wall to wall and the pebbles get searingly hot on bare feet so pack water shoes. Pine tree shade lines the back of the beach providing real relief and basic shower and restroom facilities are on site. Strollers can reach the main area via a paved promenade but the pebble beach surface itself means a carrier is smarter for toddlers once you hit the sand.
