Williams’s main street IS historic Route 66 — one of the last intact stretches of the Mother Road, lined with neon signs, vintage diners, souvenir shops, and classic Americana. Rod’s Steak House (301 E Route 66) has been serving since 1946; Twister’s Soda Fountain serves root beer floats in a retro diner setting. Browsing is free and kids love the oversized Route 66 shields for photos. A great evening activity after a canyon day — the cool 6,762 ft evening air makes outdoor dining genuinely pleasant even in summer.
