The northern end of White Beach at Station 1 is consistently voted one of the finest beaches in the world, with powder-white sand so fine and flat it is one of the rare tropical beaches where a stroller or beach wagon actually rolls reasonably well along the hard-packed wet sand near the waterline. The beach itself is free to access; families typically spend USD 5-15 on a beachside lounge chair and umbrella rental from the resort fronts lining the shore. Sunset here is spectacular and a true bucket-list moment — arrive by 5:30pm to secure a spot as the golden hour draws large crowds nightly. The wave break at Station 1 is gentle compared to Stations 2 and 3, making it the safest swimming zone for toddlers and non-swimmers; the water is waist-deep for adults up to 15-20 meters from shore. Sun protection is critical — the sand reflects UV rays intensely and babies and toddlers can burn within 20 minutes; a UV tent or large beach umbrella and SPF 50+ are non-negotiable.
