A free, largely traffic-free riverside trail winding 12 miles through Edinburgh. The Dean Village to Stockbridge section (~1 mile) is the most scenic and pushchair-accessible, passing through a leafy gorge that feels surprisingly wild for a capital city. Dogs welcome; path is well-surfaced through urban sections. The Visitor Centre near Slateford has toilets and free parking — a great starting point for families.
