One of Southeast Asia’s best family museums, covering 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam through life-size outdoor village reconstructions and detailed indoor exhibits. Admission is approximately 40,000 VND ($1.75 USD) for adults and 20,000 VND ($0.85 USD) for children; family tickets are available at the front gate. The outdoor garden section features a full-scale Bahnar communal house, a stilt house, and water puppet demonstrations on select days — check the schedule at the entrance for performance times. The indoor halls are fully air-conditioned making this an excellent mid-afternoon refuge during Hanoi’s hot summers when temperatures regularly exceed 95 degrees F. Strollers roll well on the paved outdoor paths and the indoor ramps are gentle and accessible.
