Do not bring food, sunglasses, or loose jewellery – the monkeys are notorious thieves and can be intimidating for toddlers or nervous children. The forested paths are beautiful and relatively shaded – one of the cooler mid-morning options in Bali. Staff are on hand to assist if a monkey becomes aggressive; the ancient temple ruins inside are genuinely photogenic.
