This small but well-curated museum on Grand Turk covers piracy, the oldest European shipwreck in the Americas, and the island’s salt industry history. Admission is around $10 for adults and $5 for children, open Monday through Saturday roughly 9am to 4pm — call ahead to confirm hours. The air-conditioned interior is a welcome break from the heat, and the exhibits are engaging enough to hold a school-age child’s attention for 45-60 minutes. Strollers fit through most of the main galleries. Do not skip the Molasses Reef shipwreck exhibit — the recovered artifacts are genuinely remarkable.
