Thinkery is Austin’s hands-on children’s museum and an absolute go-to on hot or rainy days, with interactive exhibits covering science, engineering, art, and health for kids up to about age 10. General admission is $14 per person for anyone over age 1; members get in free and the membership pays off quickly if you plan to visit twice. Open Tuesday through Sunday 10am-5pm with extended Thursdays until 8pm; closed Mondays. The water play area will soak kids completely — bring a change of clothes and a bag for wet gear. Strollers are easy to navigate throughout and lockers are available near the entrance for a small fee.
