St. Augustine Beach at the St. Johns County Ocean Pier Park is the most family-friendly stretch of sand in the area, with free parking, clean restrooms, a playground, and a covered picnic pavilion all in one spot. The waves are mild enough for toddlers most days but always check local surf reports in summer when afternoon swells pick up. The fishing pier is a fun bonus for older kids and there is a small shop nearby for forgotten sunscreen and snacks. Arrive before 10am to claim a shaded picnic spot and avoid the worst of the midday heat between June and September. The hard-packed sand near the water works reasonably well for strollers.
