Entry to the main gardens is free; the National Orchid Garden costs ~SGD $15 (~$11 USD) adults and is free for children under 12. The free Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden features a treehouse, farm, and water-play zones for under-12s – one of the best free family activities in Singapore. Swan Lake and the open lawns are ideal for picnicking. Weekday morning visits are far quieter than weekends.
