Family lake pool entry is NZD $28 for adults and NZD $14 for children ages 3-14; the dedicated family pool area is the right zone for kids as private adult pools have age restrictions. Geothermally heated outdoor lake pools sit at comfortable temperatures around 36-38 degrees Celsius and are popular year-round regardless of weather. Open daily 8am-11pm, but morning sessions before 10am are far less crowded and more pleasant for families. Towel hire is available for NZD $5 if you forget to pack your own. The sulphur smell is pronounced but most kids adapt within a few minutes of arriving.
