This small aquarium is dedicated almost entirely to penguins and holds one of the largest penguin collections in Japan with over 170 birds across nine species — a genuinely unique regional experience you will not find at larger generic aquariums. Admission is 520 yen (approx. $3.50 USD) for adults and free for children under elementary school age, making it one of the best value stops in Nagasaki. Open 9am to 5pm daily except Tuesdays; the penguin walk event (where penguins parade outside) happens twice daily at 11am and 3pm and is worth timing your visit around. The facility is compact and fully stroller-friendly and the outdoor seaside beach area lets toddlers splash in a shallow rocky shore zone. Arrive 15 minutes before the penguin walk to get a front-row viewing spot along the small outdoor path.
