Private vehicles are NOT permitted on Moraine Lake Road in summer — access is by reservation-only Parks Canada shuttle ($16 CAD/person return) booked well in advance. The Rockpile Trail is only 300m with a 30m elevation gain and gives the iconic photo viewpoint kids love. The lakeshore walk is easy and flat; canoe rentals available at the lodge (~$115/hour). Book the shuttle months ahead for July-August as spots sell out extremely fast.
