Entry into the souk is free, though budget roughly 50-200 MAD ($5-20 USD) for small spice, dried fruit, or souvenir purchases. Open daily roughly 9am-8pm though many stalls close on Friday afternoons. Lanes are narrow, uneven, and packed with foot traffic making strollers extremely difficult — a baby carrier is strongly recommended for toddlers. Best visited in the morning before heat peaks; summer temperatures regularly exceed 100F in the afternoon and shade is minimal. Kids aged 8 and up tend to engage well with the colors, smells, and sensory overload; younger children can become overwhelmed or fatigued quickly.
