Parking entry is approximately $5 per vehicle; the beach itself is free once inside and is one of the most organized public beaches on the island with lifeguards, restrooms, and shaded picnic areas. The water is calm, clear, and shallow near the shore with a gentle slope — ideal for children ages 2 through 10 learning to swim. The famous Luquillo Kiosks just outside the beach entrance offer everything from mofongo to fresh fruit cups for $2 to $12 per item — do not miss the alcapurrias. Strollers work well in the parking and picnic areas but should be left at the car once you reach the sand. Arrive by 9:00am on weekends as the parking lot fills completely by 10:30am.
