An extraordinarily well-preserved 1st-century Roman amphitheatre that once seated 20,000 and still hosts events today — kids find the sheer size thrilling. Climbing the towers gives panoramic views over the orange rooftops of Arles. A combined ticket with the Roman Theatre nearby saves money. Wear sun hats and sturdy shoes; steep stone steps have very little shade inside the arena.
