The flat valley floor walk from Lauterbrunnen village toward Stechelberg is entirely free, paved for most of its length, and runs alongside cascading waterfalls with 300-meter cliffs overhead — one of the most dramatic natural corridors in Europe. Staubbach Falls visible directly from the village is free to view and the 5-minute uphill path to the base is manageable with older toddlers on foot. Families with toddlers should target just the first 2-3 km to the Trummelbach parking area and return. Public restrooms and parking are available at both ends of the valley. Mornings offer the best light on the falls and fewer tour buses; by 11am in summer the village can feel quite congested.
