The first underwater state park in the US and one of the best snorkeling destinations in the Keys for kids. Park entry runs about $9 per vehicle (2-8 people). Snorkel tours depart regularly from the marina and cost around $30 per adult and $25 per child — book ahead in summer as they sell out fast. There is a shallow wading beach and a small playground near the visitor center that toddlers and younger kids enjoy while older siblings snorkel. Arrive before 10am on weekends to snag a parking spot and avoid peak boat traffic on the reef.
