The main botanical garden is free to enter with themed gardens and a small playground. The attached Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes (small zoo) charges €15 adults / €12 children 3–12 — one of the world’s oldest zoos and very manageable with young kids. The Natural History Museum buildings on-site (Gallery of Evolution, Paleontology) are excellent paid add-ons for curious big kids. Weekday mornings are peaceful.
