Howth is a 25-minute DART train ride from Dublin city centre — arriving by train makes it a fun outing in itself. The harbour is perfect for watching fishing boats, feeding seals, and grabbing fish and chips from stalls. Cliff walk trails range from easy (Green Route, ~3km) to more challenging. Weekdays are significantly quieter than sunny weekend afternoons.
