Cape Point is the dramatic southern tip of the Cape Peninsula and part of Table Mountain National Park — a genuinely world-class natural experience. SANParks entry fees are approximately R353 for adults and R177 for children (roughly USD $19 and $10); a funicular runs to the lighthouse for an additional R87 return for those who prefer not to hike. Allow at least 3-4 hours and combine with a Boulders Beach stop to make the long drive worthwhile. Baboons are common in the area and parents must keep food in sealed bags and car windows up at all times as baboons are bold and will approach vehicles. Paths to the lighthouse involve stairs and uneven terrain — strollers are not practical beyond the main visitor center area.
