The 9km round-trip walk is free and one of Ubud’s most scenic routes, passing through jungle and open grass ridgelines. Best for families with kids aged 5+ who can walk independently for 45-60 minutes each way; toddlers should be in a backpack carrier. Start by 7am to avoid heat and afternoon rain showers which are common year-round in Ubud. Wear sunscreen and bring at least 1.5 litres of water per person as there are no vendors on the trail itself.
