The South East Asia rainforest zone and the NZ native wildlife section are the standout areas for young kids. Paths are wide, mostly paved, and stroller-friendly throughout with only a couple of gently graded slopes near the lion enclosure. Open daily 9:30am-5:30pm; weekday mornings before 11am are significantly less crowded. Pack your own snacks as the onsite cafe is pricey, and there are plenty of shaded picnic tables near the hippo enclosure.
