Arikok National Park covers nearly 20 percent of the entire island and gives families a completely different side of Aruba beyond the beach resorts — think cacti, iguanas, wild donkeys, and natural limestone caves. Admission is roughly $11 USD per adult and $6 USD per child (ages 3-17) with kids under 3 free; the visitor center near the main entrance has a small nature exhibit and restrooms. Best suited for kids 7 and up who can handle uneven rocky terrain; strollers are not practical on the trail surfaces. Bring at least two liters of water per person since there is no shade on most trails and temperatures regularly hit 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The Conchi natural pool at the far end of the park is the big payoff — a natural rock pool tucked into cliffs — but reaching it requires either a 4×4 vehicle or a guided off-road tour (approx $50-80 USD per person).
